Garba for a cause to support artisans and women empowerment

Shree Maharani Chimnabai Stree Udyogalaya and Wardwizard Foundation Join Hands to organise
Lukshmi Vilas Palace Heritage Garba 2022
After a gap of two years Vadodara will once again dance to the tunes of traditional garba
which is its identity.
Lukshmi Vilas Palace heritage garba is also back to its full glory and this time will be
held at iconic Motibaug cricket ground. The event is to support and provide platform to
artists coming from all across the country and also towards women empowerment.
Shree Maharani Chimnabai Stree Udyogalaya in association with Wardwizard Foundation will
organise this year’s Navaratri Garba Mahotsav 2022 with an aim to support the artisans and
craftsmen during the nine days festival.
This will be a fund raising event for women empowerment as the money collected will be used
in various projects running for women by Maharani Chimnabai Stree Udyogalaya and Wardwizard
foundation.
“After a gap of two years we are finally organizing Lukshmi Vilas Palace Heritage Garba at
the historical Motibaug ground, a important landmark and unique venue. We are also inviting
Dastakaar working in Delhi and putting up 100 stalls for the artisans to showcase their
work. It will also be a good opportunity for the people of Baroda to interact with them.
It’s a beautiful understanding and exposure for both people to know what the city wants and
what the artisans make. Both will learn and appreciate each other,” Maharani Radhika Raje
Gaekwad.
She further added, artisans are not getting the dignity which they rightfully deserved and
we are giving them a small platform. We are keeping the flavor of our traditional garba
intact as we has the special 150 year old garba which is our anthem. It’s an amalgamation of
culture, craft and cuisine. Like every time it’s a fund raising event and the money will be
used in our projects running for women empowerment and for development of LGBTQ community.
Applauding this cultural intervention to further bolster up the efforts of both the foundations, the
Maharani said “we both have created a synergy as we share the same common values, ethos, and goals
to create equal opportunities for all marginalised communities. I am proud of taking ahead the
legacy of Shree Maharani Chimnabai and organising this Navratri Mahotsav and thank Wardwizard
Foundation for joining hands with us in celebrating this ‘Shakti Parva’. I am confident that this
partnership will help in driving positive change and motivating women to achieve their
dreams.”
Sheetal Bhalerao, From Wardwizard Foundation shared their vision and said that, “At Wardwizard
Foundation we believe that ‘empower a woman and you are empowering entire family, and a society is
as strong and culturally rich as its women are’. Our programs aim to empower and educate women from
under-privileged strata creating equitable opportunities for them. It also further aimed at helping
women giving them new lease of life. We are also grateful to Maharani Radhika Raje Gaekwad for
giving us this opportunity to support Shree Maharani Chimnabai Stree Udyogalaya in organising
Heritage Garba 2022.”
She further added, the experience will be unique for the people and creating a secure environment
for the women. Dancing on lawn will be a special experience for them. We provide valet parking and
also the food which will going to be exceptionally good.
They are expecting 25000 people for this event.
